- Cube Reaction Hybrid HPA SLT 500 E-BikeCube’s Reaction Hybrid SLT 500 E-Bike symbolises high-tech aluminium E-MTB technology. If you are interested in the bikeäó»s definitive drivetrain performance or the finest handling experience, youäó»ll be glad to know it all fits together here in a package that combines all of Cubeäó»s E-bike knowledge in a single, outstanding hardtail. If you include Cubeäó»s Size Split setup, then you will always be able to find the correct frame and wheel size combination, regardless of your height Better Functionality & HandlingThe improvements are maintained with a totally redesigned chassis. Cube took everything they knew about E-MTB development and started afresh; incorporating the Bosch drive unit and battery pack into the bottom bracket and down tube for improved aesthetics, better functionality and handling that will exceed your expectations Lower Centre of GravityCubeäó»s ARG (Agile Ride Geometry) has always guaranteed the perfect blend of stability and liveliness, but the updated lower centre of gravity and shorter chainstays mean results are further improved. Thereäó»s no need to remove the battery when charging, while internal cable routing shields the gear shift cable from damage and allows simple and comfortable gear-shifting Unrivalled TransmissionThe Bosch CX drive lays down the standard when it comes to E-bike power and with up to 75Nm it will certainly get you going. Giving you all that power is Shimano’s unrivalled XT transmission which delivers the combined effort of legs and motor to the rear wheel via 11-speeds. The Shimano XT hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm rotors consistently bring you to a stop, regardless of weather conditions Epic AdventureWith features such as Cubeäó»s wheelset that has been built around XT hubs, Cubeäó»s EX30 rims with 2.6äó tyres and Fox’s fantastic 34 Rhythm fork; youäó»ll find it difficult to fathom what else you could possibly require for that epic adventure Features:Frame: Aluminium Superlite, gravity casting, ARG, double butted, disc only, tapered head tube, boost X12, internal cable routingFork: Fox 34 Rhythm, 2-position sweep-adjust grip damper, tapered, boost 15QR, 100mmHeadset: FSA 1.5E ZS, tapered, top – Zero-Stack 1-1/8″ (OD 44mm), bottom – Zero-Stack 1-1/2″ (OD 56mm)Stem: Cube performance stem Pro, 31 8mmHandlebar: Cube rise Trail bar, 720mmGrips: Cube performanceRear Derailleur: Shimano XT RD-M8000-DGS, ShadowPlus, 11-speed, direct mountShifters: Shimano XT SL-M8000-I, direct attachBrake System: Shimano XT BR-M8000, hydraulic disc brake (180/180)Crankset: FSA CK-745, 16TCassette: Shimano XT CS-M8000, 11-46TChain: KMC X11Rims: Cube EX30, 32H, disc, tubeless readyFront Hub: Shimano XT FH-M8010-B, 15QR, boostRear Hub: Shimano XT FH-M8010-B, X12, boostFront Tyre: Schwalbe Nobby Nic Kevlar 2.6, TrailStar, tubeless easyRear Tyre: Schwalbe Nobby Nic Kevlar 2.6, PaceStar, tubeless easySaddle: Selle Royal VOGASeatpost: Cube performance, 30 9mmSeat Clamp: Cube Varioclose, 34 9mmEngine: Bosch drive unit performance CX (75Nm) cruise (250Watt)Battery: Bosch PowerPack 500Bosch 4ADisplay: Bosch PurionTuned Drive Position technologyWeight: 21 2kgTechnologiesAluminium Superlite: Extremely high tensile strength heat-treated 7005 aluminium alloy is developed for the highest requirements. It is very stiff, fatigue resistant and corrosion resistant material that has high elongation. Cube’s Superlite tubes are double-butted, giving very light tube sets with a high level of stiffness Onepiece Design: Welded joints in their high-quality aluminium frames are especially finished via this method and create the impression of seamless tube design. This generates the visual effect of moulding and ensures high load bearing capacity Agile Ride Geometry: Cube ran innumerable tests to develop the Agile Ride Geometry in their series of big wheel bikes. Three important details lead to the very agile character. Increased fork offsets let them achieve the same trail as their 26″ bikes without having to steepen the head angle, thus maintaining generous toe clearance to the front wheel Secondly they shortened the chain stays without compromising the seat angle. They invented a patented construction to mount the front derailleur to give them more tyre clearance while keeping a conventional seat angle, leading to a perfect riding position for every rider size Last but not least, they kept the BB height the same as on their 26″ bikes. These measures lead to a natural riding position Tapered Steerer: This steerer tube design is stiffer than a conventional straight steerer and yields a more secure ride feel even in difficult terrain. Minimal flex at the front of the frame means the greatest possible steering precision With the larger steerer, the forks become more rigid. At the same time, weight is saved due to the absence of bearing shells as the lower bearing is fully integrated into the head tube. On all of Cube’s carbon models the upper bearing shells are also directly in the frame, so that once more a few grams are saved and the energy transfer is very direct Wet Paint Surface: On polished, brushed aluminium and all HPC frames, the logos and graphics are applied in multi-layer wet paint. Cube uses this surface treatment technology mainly to save weight Easy Mount Kick Stand: This is a new system developed and designed by Cube. The base of the stand is mounted from below to a fitting plate integrated to the frame and fixed with a through bolt. This kick stand is extremely stiff and solid through the enlarged contact areas between base and frame which gives a stable stand even with loaded panniers Tuned Drive Position: This allowed Cube to keep the chainstays as short as possible, creating exemplary handling and suspension performance Frame Safe System: To protect the high-end frames from damage, they are built with the Cube Frame Safe System replaceable derailleur hanger. The mounting thread is in the hanger and not in the frame as usual. In the case of a crash, this hanger can be easily and quickly replaced with a new one Advanced Hydroforming: Conventional hydroforming processes cannot achieve these custom shapes and technical advantages. As this manufacturing method reduces the number of welds, the weight is reduced while durability is increased Adaptable X12 Hanger: Cube optimised their updated dropout design based on the Syntace X12 through-axle system, enlarging the area of the frame where the hanger is mounted. They can now fit the longer direct mount hangers. Shifting precision and stiffness is therefore improved. With the updated design it’s also possible to swap the whole contact area of the axle with the hanger should the system be worn out Boost148: This technology provides precise handling on every trail and in every situation. The hub flange moves 3mm towards the outside on both sides. It increases the stiffness of a 27 5″ wheel by 14% and a 29″ wheel by 21%. The reason is the spokes wider support in comparison to the 142mm hubs used previously Smooth Welded: This elaborate procedure with doubled weld seams has two advantages: On the one hand, it improves the firmness of the weld seams and minimises the load peaks on the tube welds through energy flow. On the other hand, it gives the frame a better and more organic look due to the smooth and hardly noticeable welds Integrated Cable Routing: Internally routed cables offer many advantages. Cables are protected from dirt for longer life, weight is saved thanks to the absence of external housing and the bike has a clean, sleek appearance X12 Through Axle: In this system, a cone is used to form a play-free connection. It is only necessary to tighten the axle from one side. The position of the wheel is done by an insert in the right-hand dropout which is secured by a bolt. The main advantages of the Syntace system is the quick and simple changing of the wheel, a reliable position of the brake disc and higher stiffness of the bike’s rear. This allows the assembly to be made lighter than a conventional through-axle Easy AssemblyWhen you order a bike, one of our trained mechanics will carefully prepare and pack your bike for shipping. Excellent tool by Nickart, 26 September 2017 A well made bike with good quality groupsets. Demands a completely different skillset to riding a conventional mtb, there are places you would not dare go without the assistance, at the same time the extra weight means it is difficult to throw the bike around. Pros: smile factor build quality Cons: motor expensive for what it is have to remove battery to charge
