- Zone3 Vanquish WetsuitThe Vanquish is not only the choice of some of the best Triathletes in the world but also some of the most experienced regardless of swim ability. Ironman distance athletes love the suit for its extreme comfort and flexibility around the shoulders and Sprint/Olympic distance athletes for its speed and buoyancy In 2013 it was described by Triathlon Plus magazine as “not only an incredible suit for the price point but also one of the best they’ve ever tested” æ This year Zone3 are going even further æand pitching the suit as one of the most buoyant and flexible suits on the market The suit is designed to make sure the shoulder, arms, upper back and lats are as flexible as they possibly can be and then combining this with some of the World’s most buoyant materials around the quads, hips and gluts. This is how it’s been achieved:æAn ultra thin one-piece shoulder panel stretching all the way from the left hand to the right hand side with no seams in between. As soon as you put this suit on you can feel the difference. Maximum flexibility meaning you can increase your distance per stroke, conserve energy and minimize the risk of shoulder injuries. This panel is only 1.5mm thick and made with Yamamoto’s premiumæ #40 SCS. Ref# 1æExtending the area of this same high stretch fabric across the shoulder blades and from under the arm down to the hip. This really helps to maximise the propulsion you can achieve with each stroke and ensures a fluid roll with each arm pull. Ref# 2æSensory Catch Panel: Aeroforce fabric is used on the forearms to give an improved feeling and catch in the water. Rather than a traditional rubber fabric, the Vanquish uses a double layer of high performance, water repellent Lycra fabric. This firstly reduces arm fatigue as there is not as much buoyancy resistance during the catch phases of the stroke but also allows the swimmer to improve their efficiency in the water. No water can enter the suit but you will feel the coldness of the water on the forearm panel which helps to align your hand and forearm during the stroke to give more propulsion and also a more natural feeling swim. Ref#3æA 3mm chest panel is used to further increase flexibility and allow maximum chest expansion, however a 5mm buoyancy panel is built into this area using an innovative sandwich construction. This helps to improve course sighting during the swim and acts as a roll-bar to help promote the essential torso rotation between each stroke. Ref #4æThe hip and core areas are made up from a combination of three different materials, each with a thickness of 5mm which is the maximum allowed under ITU rules. These panels are:Features:æMaterials:æ90% Neoprene, 10% NylonPro Speed CuffsTM on the arms and the legs for rapid removal after the swim to ensure the quickest transitions, saving you vital time on any course æV-shape neck design with built in moulding which keeps the suit in position at the sides but allows a lower and more comfortable äóÖT-shirtäó» fit on the front keeping the suit away from the adams-apple æUpwards breakaway zip design for even quicker transitions and protection from having your zip pulled down during a race æStylish graphite neoprene on the arms and gold and gunmetal tones for an exclusive look The Vanquish makes use of some of the Worldäó»s highest performance materials and combines these with a thoroughly researched panel design to ensure maximum flexibility and balanced buoyancy. The suit is aimed at those looking to race to the best of their ability and save time and energy during the swim BuyæZone3 Wetsuitsæfrom Chain Reaction Cycles, the World’s Largest Online Bike Store.

Fantastic wetsuit by bernmc, 22 April 2014, 7 out of 7 people found this review helpful I went from an older 2XU wetsuit to the Vanquish, and it’s a revelation. Did a half ironman in the 2XU, felt sick at the start as it felt so restrictive, and it chafed a great rift valley in my neck every time I used it. The Vanquish is in a different league. It’s comfortable. It’s easy to get on and off. It’s flexible and allows unrestricted movement. And it’s fast! The first time I used it I kept bumping into friends who normally left me for dead in the water. And after a full ironman, my neck remained as smooth as a baby’s bum. Note that you’ll need a mate to help you zip up – these new-fangled pull up to release zips are pretty tricky to get into, but lightening fast to get out of (where it counts) Pros: fast comfortable
Vanquish for long distances!! by FIron, 23 June 2015, 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful I’ve been using this wetsuit for over 6 months and completed a number of long swims in preparation for my channel swim (as a part of an Arch to Arc attempt). The flexibility around the shoulders is fantastic and it flies through the water. Also I’ve managed to avoid any horrendous wetsuit rub marks, even when I’ve forgotten to put any lubricant on! Huge like and thoroughly recommend. A wetsuit for swimmers Pros: flexible comfortable fast durable
