- Campagnolo Khamsin Asymmetric G3 Road WheelsetRedesigned to provide Campagnolo technology at an entry-level price-point, this Khamsin Asymmetric G3 Road Wheelset is a reliable aluminium wheelset for winter training or every day cycling Advanced Aluminium Asymmetric WheelsetWith advanced characteristics such as Mega-G3ä¢ spoke lacing patterns, oversized flange and Spoke Dynamic Balanceä¢ technology, this Campagnolo Khamsin Asymmetric G3 Road Wheelset is clearly a step above the competition. Campagnolo’s engineers have pushed the quality of this aluminium wheelset by incorporating an asymmetric rear rim that, when coupled with Mega-G3ä¢ lacing pattern, provides increased performance in terms of lateral and torsional rigidity. The Campagnolo Khamsin Asymmetric G3 Road Wheelset is reliable in all conditions Features: G3ä¢ Geometry:æCampagnolo¬ has developed an assembly architecture which, compared with a traditional wheel, makes it possible to improve energy transfer, reduce the stress on the spokes on the right and increase transverse rigidity. This is achieved because in G3ä¢ geometry the right-hand side of the rear wheel is fitted with twice as many spokes as the left. The results of G3ä¢ system are truly extraordinary: better transfer of the driving torque, better lateral rigidity, reduction of the stress in the rear wheel spokes. And thanks to the G3ä¢ system that compensates for the forces acting on the 2 sides of the wheel, there are no more wheel vibrations, even for heavier people Differentiated Rim Height:æ24mm at the front to provide optimal handling; 27 5mm at the rear for transmitting all your power to the wheel Asymmetric Rim Profile:æAsymmetrical rear rim profile allows for better balancing of spoke tensions between drive and non-drive side, giving better symmetry to an asymmetric component. Increased efficiency and reactivity are sure to be noted Dynamic Balanceä¢:æEvery point of the rim is counter-balanced by an equal weight on the opposite side. Maximum stability of the wheel even at high speeds Straight-head Spoke:æMaximum stiffness of the wheel äóñ maintains the spoke tension and long-lasting performance. Oversized Flange:æIncreases the torsional stiffness, increasing reactivity at each change of pace of the cyclist Aluminium Axle:æReduces the weight of the wheel Sealed Bearings:æMaintains performance over time äóñ longer bearing lifeFront Wheel Specifications:Rim Material:æAluminiumHub Body Material:æAluminiumSpoke Material:æSteelNut/Nipple material:æBrassBearings:æSteelRim Section Height/Width (Nominal):æ24/20 5Requires Rim Tape:æYesNumber of Spokes:æ18O.L D:æ100Nominal Weight:æ815gRear Wheel Specifications:Rim Material:æAluminiumHub Body Material:æAluminiumBearings:æSteelSpoke Material:æSteel/Stainless SteelNut/Nipple Material:æBrassRim Section Height/Width (Nominal):æ27.5/20 5Requires Rim Tape:æYesNumber of Spokes:æ24/G3ä¢O.L D:æ130Compatibility:æ9/10/11Nominal Weight:æ975g/1,014g (Shimano/HG)BuyæCampagnolo Wheels & Tyres from Chain Reaction Cycles, the Worldäó»s Largest Online Bike Store.

Bought these to commute on … they are great value by DGN1967, 22 May 2014, 9 out of 9 people found this review helpful Nice, light, cheap wheels. I expected that perhaps their durability/quality would suffer. I have been pleasantly surprised by them. I commute 100-200 km a week and they have been sturdy as anything. I ride about 1/3 gravel road and they have been great. I’m no lightweight either at 93 kg. Even if their durability doesn’t pan out (its been a few weeks and so far so good), they have been a great bargain – so far. Pros: inexpensive sturdy relatively light
Good quality with good price! by Gideon, 11 December 2014, 9 out of 10 people found this review helpful Rode on Mavic Cosmic SL 40mm profile wheels for more than 1000km before this. Decided to get a non-aero wheelset for training as well as due to the crosswinds in the area I ride. Found this affordable wheelset and it looks good too! Weighing 55kg and an aggressive rider myself, I’ve rode on these wheels for more than 200km so far. Brought it to my Mavic qualified wheels-truing mechanic to check, he says no re-tightening needed. The spokes are pre-stretched before installation I guess? So far running smooth, sounds great too. Fine engagements for the freehub side. Weight wise, feels similar to my Mavic Cosmic SL wheels. Maybe a bit heavier. Weighed them both out, the Mavic Cosmic SL actually weights 100g lighter on each wheel, I can’t really feel the difference when I rode on these 2 wheels, except the fact that running on these Campy wheels I don’t get dragged by crosswinds. Not the lightest wheels, but so far it’s been pretty responsive. Thumbs up. Pros: affordable looks good sounds good fine freehub engagement feels durable Cons: might feel a bit heavy compared to pricier wheels?
