Words cannot describe the sleekness and crisp shifting this groupo gives. by Joeyyy123, 27 June 2014, 19 out of 21 people found this review helpful Having decided to purchase my first serious road bike I rode countless bikes with various grupos. Veloce, 105, tiagra, rival and then this. And this swift, self correcting group set just makes cycling a joy and is virtually uncomparable, you can shift when you want without a hitch. The front derailleur is breath taking, the whirr of the motor instantaneously causes the shift. Over 500 miles into this group and hasn’t once slipped or not shifted. Some cycling “enthusiasts” argue that you lose the mechanical feel of man and machine. But to those people stuck in the past if you can afford the move to di2 do it. You will not regret it. Pros: little press required for shifting everything else Cons: rear derailleur abut ugly
Great kit, however, it will be damaged when you receive it by stuart80, 18 April 2017, 15 out of 17 people found this review helpful I’ve bought a lot from CRC but never left a review however my experience with this item has motivated me to leave a review. Firstly, the Di2 groupset is fantastic. It is overpriced for what it is though. The levers especially are a bit of a let down when compared with the non Di2 version. Yes, they are smaller, but the addition of two stitches and a big price increase means no carbon lever blade. Otherwise, it looks great and works really well. However, because this is Original Equipment, nothing comes in retail packaging. This would be fine if CRC simply put some bubble wrap around the larger sharp items such as the crankset, chain and cassette. However, everything will be rattling around in poly bags in a large box. One of the shifters I received had a mark down to the metal on the lever blade and the rear derailleur was scratched. Not good on something which costs å£1000 once you get all the bits you need to install it. The most ridiculous thing is, according to CRCs own customer support is that they say ‘because it is an OE groupset we can’t guarantee it won’t be damaged when you receive it’. And, you have to send the whole thing back if you aren’t happy with the state one item arrives in. So in short, great kit, but it will be marked when you get it, you’ll have to send the whole thing back with no guarantee the next one won’t suffer the same fate. So spend your å£900, just be prepared for it to not be cosmetically perfect and a lot of messing around if you decide any of the items aren’t in good enough condition. Pros: di2 works fantastically Cons: packaging is beyond poor will be damaged on arrival
