The new Tiagra is no budget group by Correze, 23 November 2015, 13 out of 15 people found this review helpful Just taken delivery and fitted this new group set and am blown away by the quality and value for money. It really does have all the technology of the likes of the new 105 5800 and Ultegra setups ( 4 arm cranks, front shifter and new designed levers / gear shifters. Have just fitted the 105 11 spd group to another bike and i cannot really tell the difference in performance between the two – perhaps the Tiagra is a little heavier and the breaks are a little less powerfull. It was easy to fit but just be careful to fit the new cable ends into the slot in the gear levers. Perfect service from Chain Reaction as usual ( delivery to France ) and everything was in origonal shimano boxes. looking forward to taking it out for its first spin. Will be buying the same again to upgrade another bike.
Fantastic upgrade reasonably priced by Jimboq, 12 March 2016, 7 out of 8 people found this review helpful I decided to upgrade with a 10 speed new group set as I was still very happy with the 7005 aluminium frame I had. Previously the bike had come with an eight speed Shimano Claris setup. The installation was fairly painless as I had done my homework via the many excellent youtube videos and the Shimano website for detailed exploded diagrams. (these are not supplied with the parts) . I can honestly say my new road bike with its 11-34 cassette almost feels like a mountain bike when tackling the hills I struggled with when the bike had the Claris. I can’t believe the difference. Highly recommended. Pros: easy to install. superb performance. wide range of gears on a ten speed. Cons: poor documentation
