SRAM Level Ultimate Disc Brake by djsmith, 7 January 2017, 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful These brakes are outstanding in every way, other than their price. Are they better than my Shimano XTR brakes? Yes, the lever feel, the modulation and the lack of brake fade (not a regular occurrence but a disconcerting problem), make these a much better choice. The only downside? is they are slightly heavier than XTR. My only real gripe is with what comes with the brakes, you get no spare olives or barbs and they require a special bleed tool, again not supplied, which after a long search I had to buy from overseas as no one in the UK at the time seemed to have one.
Best brake you can buy! by Smithy1979, 3 January 2017 These brakes are excellent. I rode on them for the first time at the weekend in harsh wet and muddy conditions and they exceeded expectations. Brake modulation, control and quality is 10/10 and this was using harder sintered pads. Assuming that they have been bled correctly and that your pads are not completely worn out, negates the need for any form of pad contact adjustment, as the brake lock bite point is exactly where it should be. Reach adjustment is also straight forward with an allen key. They were also very easy to install and set up. å£400 for both the front and rear brake is good value in my opinion, albeit hsi does exclue the rotors.
