by Anonymous, 17 January 2013, 7 out of 7 people found this review helpful I’ve had one of these for over 7 years & it has been superb. I recently purchased another bike, although sadly the the attachment mechanism has changed and I had to buy a whole new bag rather than just the bar attachment, which would have been ideal as the original bag is still in perfect condition after years of really rough handling. The new bag is slightly smaller (about 10%) in every dimension which is a shame, as the original version was a perfect fit for my Canon EOS 550d (so good in fact, that it doubled as my camera bag for a long time) – the camera still fits with a medium size lens, although it is a tight squeeze. I don’t see any benefit to the small reduction in size as the original was perfect. Still, it makes a superb day bag or part of a touring set up. I like bar bags as access is possible without stopping, and this is a great size, not too big but still large enough for just about everything you could need on a day long ride. There are well placed pockets inside which make it easy to store things with easy access, and although I don’t use the ‘f***y pack’ extension the handle makes carrying it around no problem. The quality is superb, and the attachment mechanism is strong & sturdy (better than the original), but is slightly awkward to mount. Once mounted though taking the bag on & off is a breeze, and it is held on very securely. It also sits relatively low on the bars which even looks good on my racer! I highly recommend this bag, I ride with it constantly & wouldn’t want to go anywhere without it.
Excellent Product…With Just a Few Quirks by Artichoke50, 15 September 2016, 4 out of 4 people found this review helpful if you’re looking for a small front bag that takes up very little handlebar “real estate” and carries the basics–phone, wallet, keys, sunglasses, packable rain jacket–then look no further. I would say this is probably in the 2L size variety. Smaller than the dimensions suggest because of all the interior padding involved. The quick-release clip works very well to take the bag on and off the bike and an included strap allows you to use it as a waist pack. However, in my view, this is the only questionable part of the design: it is really too cumbersome to use as a waist pack, but works perfectly as a shoulder bag. It is about the size of a medium-size ladies purse or digicam bag. So I made a shoulder strap to work with the existing loops on the sides of the bag (fortunately!) and gave it to my daughter who loves it and carries it cross-body when off the bike. This, however, means that the the quick-release waist band buckles are, well, a waste. And the zip pockets on this waist band are facing the wrong way when used as a shoulder bag (or when on the bike, for that matter). Good for security, but not ease of access. Also, the add-on strap for the waistband stows inside the bag and uses valuable space. it would have been much smarter for Topeak to provide a hook-and-loop or elastic “wrap” on the top handle (as I did) to carry the extra strap (shoulder strap in my case) Still a winner, in my view, and worth the bit of extra effort if you can pick it up on sale. Typical Topeak quality in construction and materials. Should last a long while. Pros: typical topeak quality and construction almost alone in its category: on and off the bike Cons: some questionable design decisions
